The Essentials of Migration Management (EMM2.0) programme was allocated a panel at the 113th Session of the IOM Council on Day 3, Thursday, 1 December 2022.
The purpose of the panel was to present EMM2.0 as an institution-wide flagship programme on migration management, and as one of IOM’s key capacity development tools. The panel was chaired by IOM Deputy Director General for Operations, Ms. Ugochi Daniels with inputs from Department Director of Programme Support and Migration Management, Ms. Monica Goracci.
Member States also joined the conversation, highlighting how a capacity development tool such as EMM2.0 can help pave the way for the development and implementation of policies that ensure safe, orderly and regular migration, working for the benefit of those who move, as well as their communities in the country of origin, transit and destination.
The panelists included:
- Ms. Susan Ople, Secretary (Minister), Department of Migrant Workers, Republic of the Philippines
- Ms. Stephanie Leung, Director of International Migration Policy, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
- Ms. Nurdan Erpulat Altuntas, Director General of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Türkiye
