For this reason, migration policies and strategies should be developed through a gender lens, ensuring that they address how different groups are being impacted. How can a gender-responsive approach ensure the human rights of women, men, girls and boys and non-binary individuals, throughout all stages of migration? What are the ways to ensure that movements and services are benefiting everyone equally?

This self-paced e-module discusses the importance of a gender-responsive approach to migration policies to be able to address direct and indirect discrimination resulting from gendered norms and biases. It considers the differences in the drivers and experiences of migration, such as labour market participation, which are often gender-based. Critical topics such as gender-based violence (GBV) are also analysed in the context of migration.
This e-course is designed for stakeholders interested in strengthening their capacity to address gender considerations in the context of migration management: government officials with migration-related policy functions; IOM/UN staff; other migration stakeholders such as members of the civil society and diaspora organizations; academics, policy scholars, students and other individuals from teaching/research institutions.
