Course Description

Migrant smuggling is a growing transnational crime. Indeed, smuggling of migrants is often committed by organized crime groups in conjunction with other transnational crimes, such as smuggling of weapons, drugs or trafficking in persons. What is a comprehensive response to address migrant smuggling? How should States prevent migrant smuggling, and prosecute and investigate the crime? How can they strengthen partnerships to achieve these goals?

Find answers to all these questions and more in the EMM2.0 e-course on Smuggling of Migrants. This self-paced e-learning module explores how migrant smuggling can compromise the lives and safety of migrants. It also explains how States can propose measures to prevent migrant smuggling, prosecute smugglers, protect the rights of smuggled migrants, and cooperate with States to achieve these objectives.
