Following the training-of-trainers (ToT) event which took place on 7-9 September 2022, a two-day training for government stakeholders in Indonesia was held on 29 and 30 September 2022. This training aimed to contribute to the overall objective of the Migration Governance for Sustainable Development in Indonesia (2022-2023) programme, funded by he Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MMPTF), and implemented jointly with UNDP and UN Women. The purpose of this training was to introduce key aspects of migration management while highlighting the importance of a whole-of-government approach in addressing migration policy challenges. The training was delivered in Bahasa Indonesia.
Nineteen participants from various government ministries working directly or indirectly on migration policies attended the training, including two representatives of UN Women and UNDP. Participating government institutions were: Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology; National Statistics Agency (BPS); National Commission on Violence Against Women; Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK); Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs; Ministry of Village; Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (KPPA); Ministry of Law and Human Rights; Ministry of Finance; and, Ministry of State Secretariat.

- Understand how to develop and strengthen migration policies by following the steps in the policymaking cycle
- Feel empowered to take action to improve their own migration policies
- Recognize migration as both a benefit and a challenge that can be managed
- Promote collaboration within government, with other governments and beyond government (e.g., private sector, civil society and international organizations)
