These modules offer direct linkages to implementation of the Turkey Irregular Migration Strategy Document and the National Action Plan 2021-2025 which aims at management of irregular migration via comprehensive, human rights and evidence based and effective policies as well as mitigation of negative impacts of irregular migration.
With half-day three cascaded webinars on 8-12 November mainly targeting Turkey’s MFA consular officials/personnel, IOM aims to highlight the importance of a whole-of-government approach in addressing countering irregular labour migration and human trafficking with a particular lens mitigating risk of exploitation, promoting registered employment, advocating for prevention of THB, protection of victims, prosecution of the crime as well as partnerships to be accelerated.
A total of 400 participants were trained on different aspects of migration management, including MFA consular officers and LSS labour attachés working at Turkish Missions abroad.
The Director-General of MFA (Ambassador), Director General of LSS, Head of Department of Presidency of Migration Management and IOM Turkey Chief of Mission delivered opening remarks at each webinar. Director Generals answered questions from participants.
